Metix is a medical technology company specialising in the development of portable, non-invasive, hand-held, network linked vital signs monitors for use by medics and first responders in the field.

Its two principal products under development are:

COREMED X: an emergency vital signs monitor that measures heart rate, respiration rate, blood oxygen level, blood pressure and body temperature.

Readings are automatically uploaded to a web-based database server over a data network connection or via Bluetooth; and

COREMED M: a mobile remote vital-sign monitoring device linked to the GPS/GPRS network and incorporating proprietary sensing technologies and software algorithms.

The intended users of this portable technology are clinicians working in rural, remote, or extreme environments.

Due to the size of incumbent technologies currently available, remote clinics and medical military corps invariably use their makeshift tents to provide medical treatment, therefore space is a premium.

The primary advantage of COREMED is the combination of functionality and compactness.
